TV reception conditions in Banbury

TV aerial reception conditions in Banbury are generally pretty bad. Not all of Banbury can receive the whole digital TV (Freeview) range of channels even with a high gain aerial installation. Grimsbury and much of the south of the town works well on the Oxford transmitter but a lot of the town is in a dip and so does not have a line of sight to this transmitter nor the other regional transmitter in Sutton Coldfield (Birmingham). The local transmitter on Bretch Hill tends to be used for terrestrial aerial reception the weaker reception areas in Banbury. The only disadvantage of using this transmitter is that it does not transmit the full range of digital channels.
