DATA POINT INSTALLATION

Oxford aerials can install data cables for you to link your computers and TVs directly into your router. 

Although the Wifi signals from modern routers are good and strong, there is always a slight reduction in internet speed compared to hard wiring your computer directly into your router. For e-mailing or for general on-line browsing this doesn’t matter but for uses like high definition on-line gaming or watching high definition movies on your computer then it’s beneficial to have the fastest possible speed. Customers very often ask us to install a dedicated hard wired connection from their router to their computer so they can have the peace of mind of knowing that they have the maximum possible internet speed for these kinds of purposes.

We can supply and install a dedicated data point without the need for obtrusive or messy works. We have years of experience of running TV aerial cables externally on houses that are already lived ibn and nicely decorated and we can employ the same methods when fitting data cables to your computers. We can clip cables externally, we can run cables through your loft and behind gutters and drain pipes to get them to wherever your computer is.

In larger houses there are often many data points already pre-installed. We often install Home Data Networks in these larger houses, using a fast (Gigabit) network switch (an internet splitter) to connect up dozens of points to the router. With this type of installation there are then hard wired internet points that can be used now or at any time in the future, either to plug into a computer, a TV, a Wifi transmitter or any other device which relies from an internet connection.
